The ‘camp’ dogs and other animals that live around Tennant Creek in remote northern Australia are a constant source of fascination for Dion. He draws them in a variety of moods and situations. His depictions stem from acute observations made while driving around Tennant Creek or sitting on his grandfather’s lawn watching events unfold at Mulga Camp.
