Birth Date: 1/7/1952
Place of Birth: Mimili
Emily was born in Mimili but as a young woman, she began working at the Granite Downs Station (near Indulkana)
washing dishes. She wasn’t paid any wages, just given food to eat.
After having five children she left them to be raised by her mother, as is tradition, and went to Uluru to work as a
tour guide, showing people Anangu tradition and culture.
Emily has only begun to take up painting in her retirement years, but her style has quickly sparked the interest of
galleries and buyers.
