This print shows the minimindi (water lily). The round fruit contains many small seeds. The skin is peeled off to expose the orange brown seeds, which are eaten. The stems of flowers can also be eaten, the stem is softened by leaving it in the sun for a short period, the thin outer skin is then peeled off. The tubers are dug up out of the mud, they are washed and roasted on the coals. They have a pleasant starchy taste and are also used medically to treat constipation.
