Marina Strocchi is an Alice Springs based painter and printmaker who has lived and worked in Central Australia since 1992. She graduated from art school in Melbourne in 1982, then travelled throughout Europe before becoming a member of the Roar collective in Melbourne.
Strocchi was the founding Director of Ikuntji Arts at Haasts Bluff in 1992 and has worked extensively with Aboriginal artists in Central Australia. Her own art is layered with aesthetic and philosophical values conveying personal intimacy and cultural awareness.
Strocchi exhibits widely and is represented in significant Australian and international collections. She was a finalist in the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2010.
