The artist has applied pwoja (comb) to show the thousands of tracks and sand markings that the arijilani (hermit crab) burrows create at each low tide. Reflecting a landscape in both material and form, this work foregrounds a style of mark making that is traditionally reserved for ceremonial body painting to describe the character of country
