Tali Tali is from the traditional Anangu Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands which are situated below Uluru in the far north west corner of South Australia. There are a number of community owned art centres on the APY Lands.
Artworks produced by these artists reflect the strong connection the people have with their traditional country and the importance of cultural ceremony. An example of this is in the use of imagery that directly relates to body painting used for traditional dance (inma), and the many interesting and diverse representations of country in the work.
As custodians of their culture the artists continue to pass on their culture through the traditional and contemporary art they produce.
