WALANGKURA NAPANANGKA – PINTUPI
Walangkura Napanangka was born at the site of Tjiturrulnga, west of Kintore circa 1946. Her family moved to Haasts Bluff when she was in her early teens. She is the daughter of Inyuwa Nampitjinpa and the sister of Pirrmangka Napanangka, who both painted for Papunya Tula Artists. Walangkura began painting for the company in early 1996, and along with her husband, Johnny Yungut Tjupurrula, shares her time between Kintore and Kiwirrkura. In 1999 Walangkura contributed to the Kiwirrkura women’s painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal.
