Kunbid Nuye (His Hands) depicts the outline of Wamud’s hands. Hand stencils are an aspect of the rock art tradition. Traditionally, they were created when Aboriginal people put ochre in their mouth and blew it across their hand which rested on the rock surface. Hand stencils are considered to be a type of signature in the rock art tradition.
This plate was created by Wamud in 2006 and was printed after his passing in 2009. The print has been authenticated with the Injalak Arts & Crafts Association Inc stamp on the back bottom left corner.
