Artwork Story
Aaron was born in Darwin and went to school both in Nauiyu (St Francis Xavier School) and Darwin at St Mary’s Primary School. He also attended St Johns College in Darwin. He always watched his mother Patricia McTaggart paint at home, being trained at school he started painting. He sells his artworks through the Merrepen Arts Centre.
When he came back from college and during the school holidays he would paint in his free time. One of his early paintings with dragonflies was bought by Community Aid Abroad and published in the CAA diary.
Aaron is currently the deputy CEO of Merrepen Arts Culture and Language Aboriginal Corporation. Aaron graduated in May 2010 with a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Arts Management.
