In this design, Selina has depicted various types of manme (bush foods). These are still regularly gathered around Gunbalanya and its outstations, and knowledge of their names and uses is an important part of the Kunwinjku traditional curriculum. The two roots depicted are different yams, karrbarrda and mankongkong. The feathery leaves belong to mankodjbang, a billabong plant with edible roots, and the large flowers are manbardmo, the blooms of water lilies. These will eventually form edible seeds, which were once a staple carbohydrate food. The designs were created by Injalak artists with the assistance of technician Tim Growcott.
